Usually I don’t like these summits that much, too many people, too much fluff and empowerment stuff. Don’t ask me why I went to this one, but I did. It looked and sounded powerful and glamorous — that gets me every time. I wasn’t disappointed. During two incredibly invigorating days with over 500 fellow women entrepreneurs, I had the privilege of listening to some of the most inspirational speakers I have heard in a long time. This is a quick run-down of what went down.
Simon Sinek about the power of purpose; Alexis Maybank, Founder and CEO of Gilt about building brand loyalty; and Malia Mills (of the eponymous swimwear brand) about the power of partnerships.
“Never become too tired or jaded to try.” “If you are failing, it just means you are not at the end of your success story yet.” “Just get started, and don’t quit.” Jessica Herrin, CEO of Stella & Dot. She really rocks.
“Only get into business with people who share your ethos.” Malia Mills, Founder and CEO of Malia Mills Swimwear.
I am 100% with you, ladies!
My overall favorite:
I loved this at first sight. What I know for sure is that all businesses are about people and that respect and kindness are the foundation of success in life and business. At least success as I define it.
Here you have it.
With that, I wish you a very nice weekend!
