As of January 3, 2012, online Final Renewal Statements for investment adviser (IA) firms are available in IARD/Web CRD. These statements will reflect the final registration statuses of your IA firm and representatives as of December 31, 2011.
It is important to review the statement as soon as possible to verify its accuracy and take any further action required. Final Renewal Statements will indicate whether the investment advisor is ”Paid In Full,” has an “Amount Due,” or “Failed to Renew.”
Amount Due
If your statement reflects an amount due, you must remit full payment to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority by February 3, 2012.
Failed to Renew
If your Final Renewal Statement shows a “Failed to Renew” status, it is important to to immediately contact each jurisdiction where your firm is required to be registered to find out what steps are required to be reinstated.
If you find any other discrepancies in the final statement, you must report the errors, in writing, to FINRA by February 3, 2012. Be sure to include a copy of your firm’s Final Renewal Statement and any supplemental documentation that would support your claim.
